You have to love a place this beautiful.

Meet Umbarak (In Arabic, his name means Blessed - Lucky!)

Umbarak takes us out and around Dubai most weekend.

Naturally, we have to avoid camels.

They are everywhere.

Usually too busy to bother travellers.

Goats too.

So... off to the mountains in the Northern Emirates - about an hour away

Or to the Eastern Emirates

Lots to see along the way

Always a favorite with me... this one is on the list for the Spa Review

s t

And the Friday market half way to Fujairah.

But the desert is always the main attraction

A major tourist activity and local sport is dune bashing.

Wonderfully exciting,

with a bedouin bbq after dark

And a camel ride - he looks harmless, right?

Ha!  You've got to admire these guys!

A favorite of ours is a resort in the desert with a dinner show.

Our first trip was to Al Ain.

Friendly local who looks like my brother Roy

Time to head back to Dubai - an hour away

Sunset is the best time.
